Our first ball raised over £13,500
We're over the moon to announce that Elliot's Footprint's inaugural Red Tie Ball, thrown to mark what would have been Elliot's fourth birthday raised a staggering £13,555.62. Thank you so much to everybody who came to the event or supported us through sponsorships or donations.
Speaking after the event Elliot's Dad and Chair of Elliot's Footprint John said:
"We're completely overwhelmed by the caring and generous nature of all those people who came out to support us at the ball. Losing our little boy made us feel suddenly so isolated, lonely and confused but people have shown us that we don't have to be alone and that Elliot's legacy of care and compassion will live on through the lives and actions of others. The Red Tie Ball, created as a way to celebrate Elliot's short life, whose favourite colour was red and who loved dancing and being with people, aimed to raise funds and awareness of the plight of bereaved families who are left to cope without adequate help and support. The event was our first public fundraiser.
Andrea and I thank every single supporter from the bottom of our hearts, for although are hearts are still heavy with grief, Elliot's death now at least has a sense of purpose and his charity has a clear mission to ensure that no family will struggle alone after the sudden loss of a child."
